These photos show the site and the pieces that Tom Colbert's team found recently, believed to be part of D.B. Cooper's parachute. A new theory about what happened to the mysterious D.B. Cooper has gained some attention and perhaps some credence in recent weeks as two senior FBI agents have given the nod to parts of the story. Author and filmmaker Tom Colbert and his wife, Dawna, with the help of a cold-case team comprised of former members of law enforcement, including ex-FBI agents, have come up with a theory that Cooper not only escaped but is … [Read more...] about D.B. BREAKING: Molly Corbett, Thomas Martens found guilty in Jason Corbett's death https://t.co/hdCcMXAV9k pic.twitter.com/RuppGZUrmg — FOX8 WGHP (@myfox8) August 9, 2017 Thomas Martens had told the 911 operator he thought he had killed his son-in-law, and when authorities arrived at the brick house on a golf course in Lexington, N.C., there was little argument. Jason Corbett was naked on the floor of his bedroom. His head bad been bashed in. A 28-inch Louisville Slugger baseball bat and a concrete brick were found near the body, according to the Winston-Salem Journal. Martens — who spent 31 years as an FBI agent before a career at the Department of Energy in his home state of Tennessee — freely admitted he had attacked Corbett on August 2, 2015. He told authorities he had stumbled upon the couple fighting during a visit. Jason Corbett was choking Molly Corbett, he claimed. The attack was a rescue. She backed up her father’s story. But that tale … [Read more...] about Jury rules: Former FBI agent and his daughter murderously crushed her husband’s skull
A Maryland man was charged in connection with the killing of a former FBI agent found dead in March under a woodpile and a plastic tarp outside his home. Jason Byrd, 42, was arrested Monday after police say he was part of a conversation over texts in which the victim’s estranged wife thanked Byrd for being her “muscleman.” The exchange occurred March 16, shortly before the body of Scott Alan Horn, 62, was discovered, charging papers said. Byrd’s arrest comes about a week after Horn’s wife, Anne Allen, 62, was charged with murder in the case. Byrd and Allen were in a romantic relationship, charging papers said. The case stems from March 16, when Horn’s children reported him missing, police said. Horn’s son later discovered his father’s body under a tarp and a pile of firewood in the yard of his home about 9 p.m. in the 200 block of Patuxent Road in Laurel, police said. Anne Allen (Laurel Police) Though police did not detail the role … [Read more...] about Alleged ‘muscleman’ in slaying of former FBI agent arrested
Authorities have arrested the estranged wife of a former FBI agent months after his body was discovered beneath a woodpile and plastic tarp outside his Maryland home, police announced Monday. Scott Alan Horn, 63, of Laurel, was found unresponsive and bleeding from his face at the entrance of an outdoor shed on March 16, shortly after his children called police worried that he had disappeared, court documents state. Anne Allen, 62, has been charged with murder in her husband’s killing, accused of enlisting a man with whom she had a romantic relationship as her “muscleman,” charging papers written by Laurel police state. After the slaying, police immediately identified Allen as a suspect, but they had to collect evidence and build a case against her over the past four months before issuing an arrest warrant, officials in Laurel said. Many details of the investigation remain unclear. But court papers show it began March 16 when Horn’s children called police, … [Read more...] about Estranged wife charged in killing of former FBI agent

A divided Florida appeals court on Wednesday threw out the murder conviction and lengthy prison sentence for a former FBI agent in the decades-old mob-style killing of a gambling executive. The 3rd District Court of Appeal ruled 2-1 that former agent John Connolly was improperly convicted and sentenced to 40 years in prison for his role in the 1982 slaying of World Jai-Alai President John Callahan. A hit man testified in the 2008 trial that he fatally shot Callahan after Connolly tipped Boston mobster James "Whitey" Bulger and his lieutenant, Stephen "The Riflman" Flemmi, that the executive would implicate them in another death. The appeals court initially upheld Connolly's conviction in 2011 without comment but overturned it after Connolly's lawyer asked for reconsideration. In the court's new … [Read more...] about Court overturns murder conviction for former FBI agent linked to Whitey Bulger
FNC Wednesday, April 25, 2007 In this week's intelligence briefing, I investigate a mystery in the Gulf — why was a former FBI agent, a specialist in narcotics and organized crime, meeting with a wanted killer? At the state department briefing, a spokesman confirmed that the U.S. government is intensifying its efforts to locate Robert Levinson, a former FBI agent, missing in Iran since March 8. Because the U.S. has no diplomatic ties with the government of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, state department officials have been working through the Swiss until now. We have asked two European countries to work on Mr. Levinson's behalf — to knock on doors in Tehran to see if they can determine any information that might lead to determining Mr. Levinson's whereabouts. … [Read more...] about Former FBI Agent Robert Levinson: Missing in Iran?
The twists, turns and new revelations just keep coming in the investigation into alleged collusion between President Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and Russian operatives who sought to tilt the U.S. election to him. The bombshell this week was the Wall Street Journal's report that retired Lt. General Michael Flynn, Trump's former national security adviser, has informed the FBI and congressional investigators that "he is willing to be interviewed in exchange for a grant of immunity from prosecution." "General Flynn certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should the circumstances permit," Flynn's lawyer, Robert Kelner, said. But there was also other, more substantive news to come out of the investigation this week. The Senate Intelligence Committee, for starters, held its first public hearing into the matter and vowed to follow the money. "Information about Donald Trump's finances, his family and his associates may lead to Russia," Oregon Sen. Ron … [Read more...] about Donald Trump embraces ‘active measures’ by Russian intelligence, former FBI agent says
This week marks the 10th anniversary of the disappearance of former FBI agent Robert Levinson on the Iranian island of Kish. Acknowledging the anniversary Wednesday, both the FBI and the White House released statements that pledged to do more to find the missing American. “Bob went missing in Iran,” FBI Director James B. Comey said. “Ten years is an inhumane amount of time to ask a family to wait for word of their loved one. Our ability to reunite Bob with his family is dependent on this shared commitment and we continue to call on the Iranian government to provide assistance.” White House press secretary Sean Spicer said that the Trump administration remained “unwavering” in its commitment to finding Levinson and getting him home. “We want him back, and we will spare no effort to achieve that goal,” Spicer said. President Trump is a frequent critic of Iran and has said that he would “guarantee” U.S. citizens held by the … [Read more...] about 10 years ago, former FBI agent Bob Levinson disappeared in Iran. My experience with stress during big presentations is usually a double whammy. First, there's the delightful combination of sweaty palms, shaky legs, and violent heart palpitations. And then, there's my desperate attempt to conceal all that from my audience, feigning the calmness of a Zen Buddhist monk. In other words, I've got anxiety about the presentation and then "meta-anxiety" about masking my feelings. I figured (hoped?) I wasn't the only one facing this dilemma — and so about a year ago, I called up Joe Navarro, a former FBI agent and the author of "What Every BODY is Saying." I wanted Navarro to tell me how to make the second part of the stress package easier — how to manage the impression you make on other people when you're nervous. How do you control those behaviors that are dead giveaways of how anxious you are? His answer: Don't. "The first thing I tell people is, if you're nervous, there's a good reason for it," he said. Maybe you're meeting … [Read more...] about A former FBI agent recommends a simple 3-step exercise to beat anxiety
