In the latest (albeit way-too-early) UGA depth chart, D’Andre Swift stands at the top of list of running backs heading into the 2018 season. Will Swift become the next great running back in Athens? By Larry Altman | [email protected] | Daily BreezePUBLISHED: December 29, 2017 at 2:10 pm | UPDATED: December 29, 2017 at 2:23 pm Kristen Delgado said she isn’t angry. In fact, she was impressed by what she saw on video. Her mother, however, isn’t so happy. She’s so far out the $1,000 deductible on her car insurance. A day after Christmas, a sports car passing by Delgado’s Lawndale apartment lost control, spun out and slammed into her mother’s parked rental car. The driver — apparently unhurt and unfazed — pulled away and continued on his journey. The entire crash was caught…... [Read more]
Ravens knew details of second Ray Rice elevator video, pushed for leniency regarding running back's ban: report
The apology came quickly, within the first minute of Roger Goodell’s opening remarks Friday at the midtown Hilton hotel. “I said this before and I say it again now — I got it wrong in the handling of the Ray Rice matter. I am sorry for that,” said Goodell, referring to the former Baltimore Ravens running back, who was indefinitely suspended by the NFL commissioner and whose contract was terminated by the team earlier this month. Then Harvey said this one rated up there with Lagares’ best. “They showed a picture of whoever hit it shaking his head around the bases and I made a comment, ‘There’s a lot of guys along with you shaking their head about a…... Todd Frazier made his name in the New York area as a star player on the Toms River (N.J.) Little League World Series champion team, but nearly two decades after that feat, he created news in his Yankees home debut in rather ignominious fashion. “I think I might have set a record for first-ever at-bat at the Yankees getting a triple play,” Frazier said after the Bombers’ 4-2 win over Cincinnati Tuesday night. “I mean that’s got to be a record. It’s funny to laugh about it now, but at the time I was a little upset.” Frazier’s triple-play groundout…... [Read more]
For job-seekers, grabbing the attention of potential employers has always been a hit or miss game. For generations, a well-worded cover letter and résumé was the way applicants tried to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. But in the Internet Age, people on the prowl for work have a new weapon: the video résumé. Whether it increases a person's chances of landing a job depends on a number of factors, of course. With just a camcorder and access to the Web, anyone can direct and star in his or her own online presentation. The videos can be submitted…... [Read more]
